¿Would you live this dream to tell others?
I interviewed to Natalia, who lived this adventure for seven years.

I asked Natalia
1)  How did you know about the opportunities that U.S was offering?
And she told me that never really knew or looked for those opportunities, one day she just got to now an American, who became her pair, he began to sell her the idea of looking for a better future in a different country that idea started to snake her mind

2)  Why did you decide to go there?
And she told me that decided to go first of all for personal reasons and second because the idea of studying in a different country, where opportunities were given that easy her sounded as a very good Way to achieve what she had in mind, professionally and personally.

She said that it depends on the town, some cities like new York are open minded and accept the huge cultural diversity cultural diversity, although other cities like Cala are very traditional so the population could avoid contact with some foreign cultures.

She said that it was a great experience because she got to know a lot: different cultures, life styles and language, etc. although it was difficult to get used to new things in life being for away from home.

9) During your permanence in the U.S, did you ever go through a funny experience for being Latin?

She told men that one day someone asked her if we Colombians wore clothes as Indigenous do, and if we lived in a jungle as “Tarzan” did she thought it was funny.

Laura: It’s so difficult, sometimes people discriminate you
Carolina: I know. Are you working?
Laura: yes, I work at a travel agency. But it’s not easy for me.
Carolina: Great! At less you earn a lot of money.
Laura: Not much. If you need some help, tell me.
Laura: I remember the day when I left my home. We all were sad but we had the hope that in this country everything would be better

Carolina Bedoya Castaño:

How many of us; do not have a friend, a relative or friend of a friend who is in the other side of the world
¿The reasons? Could be many, nevertheless the mean reason is the lack of opportunities that exist in our country. That’s for unfortunately in Colombia we don’t do want we want but what we can and for that a big  of fellow-countrymen make the decision of going out of the country to get lucky in a legal or illegal job; but with the hope of getting better theirs economical situation.
This week I heard a notice on the radio, which makes me pay attention; according to the office of the Census in The United States, the community hispana has a population around the 50 millions, putting their self like the minority number one in the country of the bars and stars. These numbers tell us, that the Latin countries are increasing the economics problems; for example the lack of job make to the citizens look for a way to save their family, that is why do not exist other way that looking for opportunities in the U.S and according to the census this movement is not becoming stable but on the contrary there continue increasing the persons who go out of his countries and are established in some cities of the United States.
Another point of view very important of this called “American dream” is the type of work that ours fellow-countrymen do in the other side; in fact these aren’t the best jobs that we can imagine, most of all these works are very denigrating and most of the American citizens are not capable of do.
Now although is impossible to believe, the difficult is not being there doing all that kind of stuff, the hardest thing is get there. Most of our people go illegally, fighting with the “polleros” they dedicate to swindle the people sharing exorbitant quantities of money, leave and abuse of them in the desert. Suffering the long distances and the insecurity that lives in the north of the country; all these facts should be take in count to pass the border.
That is for I invite you to reflect about this topic, which looks like a nightmare for all the things that an immigrant has to pass, to give to his family a better quality of life..

Barack Obama and the American Dream

United States is the "ideal country" for foreign people, specially for latin people. Generally, they travel to USA looking for new opportunities, they think they can improve their economic conditions easily, but that's not the reality. There are a lot of problems, restrictions and discrimination, now this is in a less level than before. Barack Obama, the actual president of United States is trying to give the same opportunities to all the people, ignoring their nacionality, that's was his offer when he was running for president

Homer Simpson tries to vote for Obama

Other points of view:

AMERICAN IDIOT

Don't want to be an American Idiot,
Don't want a nation under the new mania,
Can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind fuck America
Welcome to a new kind of tension,
All across the alienation,
Where everything isn't meant to be ok,
Television dreams of tomorrow,
We're not the ones meant to follow,
For that's enough to argue
Maybe I am the faggot America,
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda,
Now everybody do the propaganda!
And sing along to the age of paranoia
Welcome to a new kind of tension,
All across the alienation,
Where everything isn't meant to be ok,
Television dreams of tomorrow,
We're not the ones meant to follow,
For that's enough to argue
Don't want to be an American Idiot,
One nation controlled by the media,
Information age of hysteria
Calling out to idiot America
Welcome to a new kind of tension,
All across the alienation,
Where everything isn't meant to be ok,
Television dreams of tomorrow,
We're not the ones meant to follow,
For that's enough to argue

Dedication to all the opponents of the American Dream

..................................

All the people aren't happy when they reach the American dream!
Paisas also think about it

..................................

Crying I left you my land
The American dream no, no, no!
